In something of a bolt from the blue, Joe Hart now appears to be on the verge of signing for Tottenham.
Hart to Spurs?
Hart, now 33, hasn’t exactly had the most spectacular career of late, with his fall from grace pretty dramatic.
The Englishman was once regarded as one of the top goalkeepers in the Premier League, playing a starring role as Manchester City won two league titles.
However, once Pep Guardiola took the reins at the Etihad, Hart, who had just had a nightmare Euros with England, was quickly ousted as City’s No.1
What followed was Hart being farmed out on several loan spells to West Ham and Torino, were the stopper never really regained his top form.
Hart was then permanently sold to Burnley in the summer of 2018 for around £3.5m.
But after once again playing a bit-part role for the Clarets, Hart’s contract was not renewed this summer and he is now a free agent.
Now, as mentioned above, Monday morning has led to a host of speculation that Hart is set to join Tottenham on a free.

The main reason for Hart being attractive to Spurs appears to be the fact he is homegrown and helps with meeting certain squad requirements.

Lloris set for an extension?
Reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed the news of Hart moving to Spurs.
But Romano has also went on to claim that the Lilywhites are considering opening fresh contract talks with their current No.1, Hugo Lloris.
Lloris, who is also 33, has two years remaining on his current Tottenham contract.
