Inter Milan hammer Shakhtar
The second 2019/20 Europa League semi-final clash took place on Monday evening.
Inter Milan faced off with Shakhtar Donetsk for a place in the tournament’s showpiece, with a meeting with Sevilla, who ousted Manchester United from the competition the night prior, awaiting the victors.
Both Inter and Shakhtar are solid outfits, who entered the Europa League after finishing 3rd in their respective Champions League groups.
But on Monday evening, there was a clear gulf in class between the sides.
And when all was said and done, braces from both Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez, along with a 64th-minute Danilo D’Ambrosio header, saw Antonio Conte’s men emerge with a staggering 5-0 victory.
The Serie A outfit are now set to face Sevilla in the competition’s finale this coming Friday.

Hargreaves backs Martinez to replace Aguero in Manchester
As mentioned above, Lautaro Martinez netted a brace on Monday, bringing his tally for the season to 21 goals and seven assists.
Such exploits have, understandably, seen the 22-year-old linked with several top clubs this term.
And one man who is certainly of the opinion that replacing Aguero with Martinez would be a good idea is former Citizens midfielder Owen Hargreaves.
When speaking about the hitman in the BT Sport studio following Inter’s hammering of Shakhtar, Hargreaves explained:
“I know Manchester City are looking for a replacement for Aguero, Martinez is your guy.
“He’s got everything. He’s skilful, a lethal finisher. He’s got everything – [he’s just] 22 years old.
“He’s the type of player whether at Barcelona or Manchester City they’re going to get a really special player.”
