Tottenham linked with Skriniar

Spurs have, of course, already signed five players during the delayed summer window.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was first through the door, with Matt Doherty having followed shortly after.

The Lilywhites were then able to pry Sergio Reguilon and Gareth Bale away from Real Madrid, though the latter has only joined on loan.

And most recently, after what feels like an age, Spurs have finally brought in a back up for Harry Kane, landing Carlos Vinicius on a season-long loan from Benfica.

With Spurs having already brought in five players, many no doubt predicted a quiet close to the window for the usually cash-shy Londoners.

However, one area in which Tottenham are seemingly aiming to strengthen is centre-back.

The Lilywhites have been linked with Inter Milan stopper Milan Skriniar a fair bit in recent weeks.

Skriniar to Tottenham looking unlikely

Landing Skriniar, along with their previous five additions, would no doubt be a hugely successful window for the north Londoners.

However, with the transfer window set to slam shut today, a move for the Inter standout isn’t seemingly too likely at this stage.

According to the reliable Fabrizio Romano, Inter Milan will not sell Skriniar in the last hours of deadline day.

Romano goes on to add that the Serie A powerhouse are not expecting another bid from Spurs:

Inter won’t sell Milan Skriniar on last hours of #DeadlineDay and are not expecting another bid from Tottenham. It’s up to #THFC but very quiet right now. Inter are ready to keep him. #Spurs #transfers

So with a deal for Skriniar now looking unlikely, Spurs appear to have turned their attentions elsewhere, with it claimed that they have enquired about taking Manchester City’s John Stones on loan:

Elsewhere on the Spurs front, it has been confirmed that Ryan Sessegnon has joined Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim on loan for the remainder of the 2020/21 season:
