Liverpool vs Burnley

This week’s Premier League action will continue on Thursday evening as Liverpool play host to Burnley.

The Reds head into the tie in desperate need of a win after a serious dip in form.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are winless in their last four league outings – a run which has seen them slip down to 4th in the Premier League, four points adrift of top spot.

However, they shouldn’t have too much of an issue picking up a win against the Clarets.

Liverpool are at home on Thursday and are unbeaten at Anfield in the league in 68 ties.

Burnley also, despite the common perception that they are a nightmare side for big clubs, have a simply awful record against the ‘top-six’.

Against Liverpool, for example, they have won just once in all competitions since 2005, losing nine and drawing two of the remaining games between the pair.

Jurgen Klopp on Jota & Matip

Ahead of the Burnley clash, Jurgen Klopp held his latest press conference on Wednesday.

During the presser, Klopp discussed a number of topics, including fitness.

The two players the German provided updates on were Joel Matip and Diogo Jota.

The former has been a big miss at the back over recent games, with Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez sidelined – whilst Jota was impressing before his injury late last year.

And when speaking about the pair on Wednesday, Klopp confirmed that Matip is back in full training and a decision will be made on his involvement vs Burnley tomorrow.

As for Jota, he is still a few weeks away from a return:

“Diogo is still a few weeks away. He needs time.”#LFC
