United go top
Manchester United were in Premier League action on Wednesday evening.
After Manchester City and Leicester had picked up wins earlier in the week, the Red Devils were aware that they needed to see off Fulham to ensure an immediate return to the English top-flight’s summit.
And though Scott Parker’s men went on to put up a decent fight, even taking the lead in the clash, in the end, it was United who came out on top when all was said and done.
Edinson Cavani drew the visitors level at Craven Cottage, before Paul Pogba’s latest stunning strike ensured that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and co. picked up all three points.
Pogba urges Man United to be arrogant
With the FA Cup campaign back underway this weekend, meanwhile, United are aware that they will maintain top spot in the Premier League for at least a few more days.
The table, though, remains extremely tight, with just two points separating 1st and 3rd.
As such, should Manchester City win their game in hand, they will actually knock United off top spot.
In turn, ahead of what is no doubt set to prove an exciting second half to the 2020/21 campaign, Paul Pogba has urged his teammates at Old Trafford to be ‘arrogant’, in their bid to secure the title:
“It’s never enough. We are still far from the trophy.
“It’s been hard to get here, it’s going to be even harder to stay there.
“Be arrogant in the way that ‘yes, we are proud to be there and we want to stay there’, but we have done nothing yet so we need to keep working.
“We are happy with what’s happening but we want this to carry on. We want this more and more.
“If we think ‘we won and we have arrived’, this is when we are going to drop.”
Paul Pogba has warned his Manchester United team-mates the hard work this season is yet to begin and they will need to be ‘arrogant’ to stay top of the Premier League.
