Dortmund not expecting Haaland departure
The continued transfer saga surrounding Erling Haaland and where he will end up has rumbled on with more developments today.
The stance from BVB is very simple and strong. Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has said he does not think Haaland will leave this summer highlighting how he feels it is too early to move on. He has made comparisons to how Robert Lewandowski waited before moving across to Bayern Munich.
“I don’t think that will happen,” Watzke said to Kicker. “Erling and his advisor Mino Raiola know what they have in us. I can only advise him to do things like Robert Lewandowski.”

“Haaland gave himself the time to mature into an absolute world-class player in Dortmund. You won’t be able to do that in a year.”
“Because it is clear that if Erling should leave us at some point, then he will only go to an even bigger club, and so many are not considered.”
However, ultimately if a club come in with a sizeable enough bid, Dortmund will be inclined to take it considering their weak position regarding the buyout clause which activates during the following summer window in 2022.
Raiola lands in Barcelona
One such club interested in making Haaland their star signing is European heavyweights Barcelona. With Lionel Messi’s contract running out at the end of the season, Haaland could be the marquee player which fills the void left by the iconic Argentine should he not renew.
The Norwegian’s agent Mino Raiola has reportedly landed in Barcelona in order to have discussions with the Catalan side.
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has published on social media to confirm the story.
“Mino Raiola is in Barcelona right now, true and 100% confirmed as Sport reported. He’s landed today after meeting with BVB in Dortmund in the last days to talk about Erling Haaland’s future. The race is open with many clubs involved, Barça too. Work in progress,” he wrote.

Barca’s fierce rivals Real Madrid are also credited with interest as are Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea. This is sure to be the story of the summer.
