The Leeds United Twitter admin appears to be enjoying himself this afternoon, during the club’s derby showdown with Sheffield United.

Whites in front

Marcelo Bielsa’s men are currently locked in action with the Blades at Elland Road.

The clash of course marks both sides’ first on the back of the latest international break over the last couple of weeks.

It was hosts Leeds who headed into proceedings as overwhelming favourites to bag all 3 points, with the Whites sitting comfortably in mid-table in the Premier League, and Sheffield United primed for a swift return to the Championship.

And, as things stand at Elland Road, the clash is indeed playing out true to form.

Bielsa and co. lead their Yorkshire rivals by two goals to one, as the action inches towards full-time.

Jack Harrison opened the afternoon’s scoring inside the opening quarter of an hour, slotting home at the back post following some fine work from Raphinha down the right:

Sheffield United, though, to their credit, managed to pull one back on the stroke of the interval, when Ben Osborn netted his first Premier League goal.

‘What a strike!’

But it was the game’s telling moment (as things stand at least) which, as outlined above, saw Leeds’ Twitter admin take full advantage of the opportunity to have some fun at the expense of the club’s rivals.

Minutes into the 2nd-half, Jack Harrison surged down the left, before delivering a low ball across the face of the visitors’ box.

Just when Raphinha looked primed to turn goalscorer, though, Phil Jagielka intervened, to slot the ball beyond Aaron Ramsdale, and into his own net:

A nightmare for Phil Jagielka as he turns a cross into his own net! 😬

The goal, evidently, came courtesy of a major mistake on Jagielka’s part, but that did not deter Leeds from poking fun at their Yorkshire neighbours’ leader, as showcased below:
