An altogether concerning update on the wellbeing of Arsenal star Kieran Tierney has surfaced online this evening.
Jota at the double
Scottish stopper Tierney was of course in the Gunners’ starting XI on Saturday, for the club’s first outing on the back of the international break.
Mikel Arteta and co. welcomed Liverpool to the Emirates, for a highly anticipated Premier League showdown.
Arsenal headed into proceedings in search of a bounce-back performance, on the back of an altogether shaky spell of form prior to the break.
When all was said and done 48 hours ago, however, to say that such a display was not forthcoming would be putting it lightly.
The hosts were outplayed in essentially every facet of the game, as a much improved Liverpool side eventually emerged on the right side of a 3-0 scoreline.
Diogo Jota opened the game’s scoring just past the hour-mark, nodding home Trent Alexander-Arnold’s wicked delivery from the right:

Mo Salah then put the visitors out of sight with a 2nd twenty minutes from time, before substitute Jota rounded out the scoring in the capital with a deserved Liverpool 3rd, guiding the resurgent champions to a 3rd straight win across all competitions.
For Arsenal, on the other hand, the situation looks considerably more bleak.
The north Londoners now sit in a lowly 10th in the Premier League table, despite having played a game more than both Aston Villa and Everton above them.
In turn, the club’s hopes of European qualification via league finish look all but dead in the water.
As outlined above, however, Arsenal’s woes were not confined solely to the eventual scoreline on Saturday.
This comes with Mikel Arteta having also seen his side dealt a hugely concerning blow on the personnel front.
On the stroke of the interval, Kieran Tierney went to ground off the ball.
Replays showcased the Scot’s leg bending during a previous challenge with James Milner, with Tierney, initially, having managed to shake the problem off.
Such will lasted just minutes, though, before Arsenal’s medical team were forced to intervene, eventually resulting in the stopper limping off to be replaced by Cedric Soares.

Arsenal’s fans, in turn, have since faced an anxious wait for an update on the wellbeing of their star stopper.
And, though none of an official variety have yet been forthcoming, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, Tierney looks set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
As per a report from the Daily Mail, the Scot is expected to miss ‘several weeks’ of action, in a major blow to the Gunners’ hopes of clinching Europa League glory.
