Liverpool vs Newcastle
Liverpool had been locked in Premier league action with Newcastle United at Anfield.
With Chelsea not playing until Saturday evening, the Reds had the chance to move into the top-four for at least a few hours with a win against the Magpies.
Liverpool were on course to do that after a superb opening goal from Mohamed Salah inside three minutes.
Absolutely outstanding from Mo Salah 🔥

The tie, however, had not all been plain sailing for the home outfit.
Newcastle have had several promising counterattacks and have tested Allison on a number of occasions.
Eventually, the pressure told and a deflected Joe Willock effort in the final minute of the match stole 2 points from Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool fans want Kabak signed permanently
However, as well as Alisson, Ozan Kabak has played a key role in maintaining the Reds’ clean sheet for the majority of the game.
The stopper made some excellent tackles and largely was able to keep Newcastle’s main threat, Allan Saint-Maximin, fairly quiet.
After his super first-half showing against Newcastle, Liverpool fans were calling for their side to sign him permanently.
Liverpool of course signed Kabak on loan from Schalke during the winter window.
When the 21-year-old joined Liverpool, it was reported that the Reds secured an option to buy for an initial fee of £18m, with the potential to rise to £26.5m.
And if Liverpool fans get their way, that deal will indeed be taken up:

Liverpool have to sign Kabak permanently, he’s been so good at the back

If we don’t sign Kabak we’re mad

Really want to see us take a punt on Kabak. For £18m it’s an absolute no-brainer.

I am once again asking Liverpool to sign Kabak! #LIVNEW

Would be criminal if we don’t sign Kabak this summer. Just needs to improve his passing range and he’d be a top player
