Mason Greenwood’s Man United stint

England’s next generation of talent is looking extremely bright, with Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka and Jadon Sancho already shining on a regular basis for their clubs domestically and in Europe.

Another of the Three Lions’ latest top youngsters is Manchester United’s, Mason Greenwood.

Unlike the aforementioned trio, Greenwood is not as regular a starter for his club.

But the 19-year-old has already begun to showcase his immense talent for Man United, recently becoming the joint-top scoring teenager in Premier League history for Manchester United alongside Wayne Rooney:

Where does Mason Greenwood want to play?

The majority of Greenwood’s appearances for Man United have come from the right-wing spot. However, Greenwood is actually naturally a centre-forward.

So, when discussing his preferred position recently, it wasn’t surprising to see that in the long-term, he wants to play in the no.9 role.

Greenwood was, however, quick to reiterate he also likes playing on the right:

“Long-term I want to be in that No.9 role but if I play on the right or in that No.9 role wherever the manager picks me or tells me to play I’ll go out there and do my best.

“I like it in both areas, there’s no grey areas if I’m on the wing or up front they are basically the same for me I’m going out there playing football with a smile on my face.”

Greenwood also discussed what his goals are for Man United, with the youngster aiming to win a lot of trophies and become the man scoring all the goals for the Red Devils:

“I want to win a lot of trophies I want to be at United being the guy who is scoring all the goals at United that’s my dream since I’ve been a little kid really.

“To win a lot of silverware that’s another thing I want to do and hopefully we can do that this season with the Europa League but I just want to be the man scoring goals.”
