Real Madrid vs Chelsea
Real Madrid and Chelsea are set to go head-to-head in the first of two Champions League semi-final clashes on Wednesday.
The winner of the games between Chelsea and Madrid will then face one of Manchester City or PSG in the competition’s showpiece next month.
The first game between the pair will take place at Real’s training ground, Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano, with the return leg taking place at Stamford Bridge on May 5th.
This is, of course, Chelsea’s first Champions League semi-final since 2014, when they were ousted from the competition by Los Blancos’ city rivals, Atletico Madrid.
Pulisic responds to Hazard comparisons
Ahead of the tie, Thomas Tuchel and Christian Pulisic have been speaking to the media on Monday.
Christian Pulisic would be drawn on his comparisons to now Real Madrid man Eden Hazard when addressing the press.
The winger, though, insisted that though it is an honour to be compared to the Belgian, he is not trying to be like him:
“He was an incredible player at this football club of course. I definitely looked up to him. I am not comparing myself to him in any way or trying to be like him.
“I am my own player, doing my best for this club. Obviously, he was a massive player for this club and obviously it is an honour to hear comparisons like that, but I still have a way to go.”
Tuchel, meanwhile, has provided an update on Chelsea’s injury issues ahead of Madrid, confirming that Mateo Kovacic is the only player set to miss out on the game:
“Only Mateo Kovacic is missing. Everyone else is available.”
