Super Salah

Liverpool are having by far and away their first season for several years.

The Reds have already blown their Premier League title defence and could well miss out on Champions League football next term.

Despite the likes of Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino experiencing some concerning dips in form, Mohamed Salah has remained a constant threat for the Merseysiders.

Salah’s latest contribution came over the weekend when he scored Liverpool’s only goal of the game in a 1-1 draw with Newcastle, becoming the first Liverpool player to ever net 20 or more goals in three Premier League campaigns:

Salah’s Liverpool future

Despite being Liverpool’s standout star, Salah’s future at Anfield has appeared somewhat uncertain for a while now, with comments on the part of the player not helping speculation over his future on Merseyside.

Last month, Salah stated that he would be open to playing in Spain. In addition, back in December, the winger refused to rule out a future move to one of Barcelona or Real Madrid, both of whom he has been linked with by the press.

And now, an update from The Athletic’s Red Agenda podcast has thrown a further spanner in the works, with suggestions that Salah is not getting the impression that Liverpool are quite as keen to get things done (regarding a new deal) as quickly as he wants:

“He would like to stay at Liverpool but he isn’t necessarily getting the impression that Liverpool are quite as keen to get things done as quickly as he wants to.”
