Who is Guido Rodriguez?
Guido Rodriguez joined Spanish outfit Real Betis in January of 2020 from Mexican club America, for a fee believed to be around €3m.
Rodriguez has since become a key figure in Betis’ midfield, notching 48 appearances across all competitions, including 33 so far this term.
The Argentine is a defensive midfielder by trade, but he can also play slightly further forward.

Arsenal eyeing Guido Rodriguez
Following an impressive start to life at the Benito Villamarín, Rodriguez looks to have caught the eye of a Premier League side.
Recent reports stemming from Spain claimed that Arsenal intend to ‘push hard this summer’ to sign Rodriguez.
With Dani Ceballos currently set to return to Real Madrid in the summer and Mohamed Elneny not exactly a top-quality midfielder, it would make sense for the Gunners to be on the lookout for reinforcements in the middle of the park.
Rodriguez would be drawn on his links to Arsenal back in March, but gave little away:
“I saw it because friends from Argentina asked me, but I told them that I knew the same as them. I am the protagonist because I am in the news but today, I do not know more or less than you who also saw it.”
However, fresh reports emerging over the weekend suggest that the north Londoners remain keen on signing the Betis star.
According to Sport Witness citing Spanish outlet El Desmarque, Arsenal are looking increasingly likely to make a move for Rodriguez this summer.
It is added that Betis will need to sell someone to balance the books this summer and one of the names touted to bring a decent sum in is Rodriguez.
The report goes on to explain that Rodriguez has a release clause worth €80m, but Betis are already giving signs that they want to do a ‘great deal’ with Arsenal for him, perhaps suggesting he could be available for a lower sum.
