Lukaku says he is staying

Romelu Lukaku has dealt a huge blow to any potential suitors of his signature this summer by speaking with media and outright denying reports of a possible exit.

Even going as far to say he ‘staying’ at the club and that he has had contact with the possible future Inter manager.

“Yes, I am staying. I’ve already had contact with the man who normally becomes our new manager. Maybe I shouldn’t say that yet… but it was a very positive conversation,” he said.

Chelsea were the main club who had been linked with Lukaku, but now seem as if they will need to find an alternative target.

Who now for Chelsea?

Reports have suggested that Chelsea will look to pursue a deal for Erling Haaland.

Lukaku was the other name mentioned. After the Belgian’s comments, this seemingly narrows the Blues’ list of targets.

After winning the Champions League, Chelsea have additional weight in the window.

After their victory in 2012, it was this which convinced the highly coveted Eden Hazard to make the move from Lille that summer.
