Andre Silva impressing
Andre Silva has had a fairly mixed senior career to date.
The centre-forward started out playing in his home country of Portugal, and developed into one of Porto’s most promising young stars. He then earned a big-money move to AC Milan in 2017.
However, Silva struggled for form in Italy, and was eventually loaned to Sevilla, where his fortunes were again mixed.
In turn, in September of 2020, Milan eventually decided to part ways with the now 25-year-old, moving him on to Eintracht Frankfurt.
And, since making the move to Germany, Silva has completely turned his career around.
Throughout 2019/20 (during a loan stint), the attacker racked up 12 goals and four assists in 25 Bundesliga outings.
But it was this past season which saw Silva produce some of his best football at senior level. The 38-time capped international managed to score a staggering 29 goals, to go along with 10 assists, in 34 league appearances.
Man City make contact for Silva
On the back of his impressive form for Frankfurt, Manchester United were linked with the striker.
Now though, Manchester City are too being linked with a move for Silva.
With Sergio Aguero on his way out, it would make sense for the Manchester outfit to be in the market for a new centre-forward this summer.
Among the names to have been linked with the Sky Blues have been Erling Haaland and Harry Kane.
And according to the Manchester Evening News, citing reports from Germany, City have already made contact with Silva’s representatives ahead of a possible transfer this summer.
In terms of a potential fee for Silva, it is reported that Frankfurt would like a fee in the region of €40m.
