A fresh update on Daniel Ek’s interest in purchasing Arsenal Football Club has emerged.

Spotify owner eyes up Arsenal

In the aftermath of Arsenal fan’s protest against current owners KSE, Spotify founder Daniel Ek threw his hat into the ring regarding a potential takeover of the Gunners.

As a kid growing up, I’ve cheered for @Arsenal as long as I can remember. If KSE would like to sell Arsenal I’d be happy to throw my hat in the ring.

Ek, who has been an Arsenal fan since 1991, has a reported net worth believed to be in the region of $4.8bn.

And was believed to have been joined by Arsenal legends Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Patrick Vieira in his bid to buy the club.

This was followed by Ek confirming in May that Arsenal’s owners turned down his bid:

Said bid was believed to be in the region of £1.8bn, and little has been made of the issue following news breaking of that bid being rejected.

Daniel Ek to bid for Arsenal again?

As mentioned above, however, a fresh update on the situation has now emerged.

And Ek does not appear to have given up hope of buying Arsenal from KSE.

According to the Daily Mail, the Spotify founder is now preparing to increase his offer for Arsenal, with the new figure reportedly believed to be more than £2bn:
